Firstly Spectrum Active`s Indpendant living skills Services develop an Individualised Support Plan with the trainee that reflects the services he or she wants and needs. The support plan describes what services (e.g., cooking, budgeting) will be provided, when services will be provided (e.g., time of day, frequency), and how (e.g., instruction, facilitation, supervision) services will be provided. Just as the individual's needs will be constantly changing, the service plan will be continuously changing to reflect their current needs and goals.
Trainees who receive Spectrum Activie`s Indpendant Living skills services are at the centre of planning the services and support they receive. While their family and friends participate in the planning process, the individual who receives Spectrum supported living services has the loudest voice. When an individual is not able to communicate in typical ways, Spectrum Activie`s Independant Living skills service learns about his or her needs and preferences by spending time with the trainee observing their preferences and the things that work and don't work for them. Spectrum supported living services also listens to the people who know and care about the individual to find out how to effectively support him or her.
Spectrum Active is able to offer trainees a chance to learn Independant living skills at 3 bedroomed property located in the Gleadless town end area of Sheffield.
Spectrum Active is one of only a small number of organisations which can offer this activity, we hope within a small period of time we can attach qualifications (NVQ/OCN) to this activity.
